Australia is a continent of diverse scenery and beautiful landscapes, many of which are only accessible by 4wd vehicles. Travelling in the bush and the outback can be exciting and at times dangerous and this gig is a perfect way for you and your mates to test out your 4WD to the limit. Cape York is one of Australia’s few remaining large wilderness areas, with few inhabitants or facilities. Access is by dirt road, air, or (along the coast) sea. The eastern edge is rainforest, but west of the Great Dividing Range the land is mainly eucalypt woodland, scrubland and grasslands. The numerous rivers vary from almost dry in the dry season (May-November) to overflowing in the wet season (December-April), when the road to the Cape becomes impassable. Starting in a small convoy of 4WD vehicles from Cairns, you make your way toward the famous marker at the most northerly point of the Australian mainland. Along the way passing through beautiful rainforest and native bushland and crossing numerous rivers. Few places in Australia can match the beauty of Torres Strait and its islands.
