This energy-fuelled collision between two contemporary circus companies combines traditional acrobatic skills, trapeze, aerials, urban hula hooping and a large dose of GWB (gut-wrenching beauty).
After touring Australia and the world, from Bathurst to Brazil, internationally acclaimed Australian circus company Circus Monoxide arrives in Adelaide to create a new show with Cirkidz, South Australia’s own circus school and performance troupe.
Come Out 09 presents Freaky, the result of this exciting collaboration.
A breathtaking spectacle with moving and often funny narratives, Freaky reflects on and celebrates the creative potential of the ‘kooky kid’ or ‘the misfit’ and on what happens when they grow to be parents in their own right. Ultimately, it recognises our individual need to feel that we belong.
Freaky is home-grown - and it’s home-made for one of Adelaide’s and Australia’s most loved theatres, the Thebarton Theatre. Freaky is a night out for the entire family.
