Canberra Nature Park is comprised of 30 discrete reserves of natural bushland tucked amongst the suburbs and rural areas of Canberra. These nature reserves have helped shape Canberra's idenity, giving it the name of 'The Bush Capital'.

Canberra Nature Park is on every Canberran's doorstep. It provides a wonderful recreational opportunity to appreciate nature, without leving the urban area. Most of Canberra Nature Park consists of hills and ridges covered in a diverse range of native forests and woodlands that include lowland grasslands and wetlands. Interpretive brochures, signage and guided walks are offered at some nature reserves to increase the visitors' enjoyment and understanding of the area.
