Born from Los Angeles' iconic underground, the inimitable, anti-fashionistas No Age emerged ripped, loud and swaying from noisy hangouts like the infamous music cavern, 'The Smell'. Following the release of their incredible debut, Weirdo Rippers, in 2007, their sophomore LP, Nouns (released by Sub Pop this year) was met with a whole new level of adoration. Always challenging the status quo, No Age prefer to perform their starkly beautiful noise-rock in unique venues: public libraries, book stores, an Ethiopian restaurants - and now, in Australia! This is their first visit here and most would agree it is long, long overdue. Show them the trip was worth it!
Of course, the celebration doesn't end here, no. For No Age are to be joined on this special double-header bill by none other than Jay Reatard. Returning after his visit to Golden Plains Festival, Reatard should be known to anyone who pays attention to the indie/punk/garage revival lead by the likes of The Black Lips. With critical acclaim surrounding his live show reaching fever pitch and coinciding with the Australian release of Singles 06-07 (the collection of all his out-of-print material), Jay brings his iconic statement of new wave punk and twisted garage pop genius.
