When Bangarra Dance Theatre’s composer David Page performed Page 8, his inspiring one-man show at Sydney’s Belvoir St Theatre in 2004, he received a standing ovation on opening night. Following a successful regional tour earlier this year, his captivating coming-of-age story is currently touring in the UK where it is being rapturously received. Company B is so proud to be taking such wonderful indigenous theatre to the rest of the world!

Page 8 is the story of how, as the eighth child of twelve living in a Mt Gravatt housing commission estate, David became Australia’s answer to Michael Jackson. Little Davy Page was an all-singing, all-dancing sensation; at a tender age he appeared on Countdown and The Paul Hogan Show and his singles twice made it to the Top Ten until his voice broke. Then in his teenage years there were questions of sexuality until finally he became an award-winning composer for stage, television and film.
